USAccess Light Activation (LA) v6.0.0 and Mobile Credentialing Unit (MCU) v3.0.0 installers are now available

The USAccess Light Activation (LA) v6.0.0 and Mobile Credentialing Unit (MCU) v3.0.0 installers were posted on LAS tst page today. The installers include a new version of ActivClient and new components necessary for the Chrome and Edge browser support to be introduced in Release 20.0. Although this update is optional, sites are encouraged to update their workstations to utilize the new browser functionality following the implementation of Release 20.0 on July 17-18 2021. Please follow all steps in the installation guides and refer to the new job aid to ensure workstations are configured correctly in order to utilize Chrome and Edge browsers for USAccess applications with Release 20.0. Please note, this release only adds adds support for Enrollment on MCUs, Self Service Password Reset, Acknowledgement Page and CIT portals to function in the Chrome and Edge browsers. Activations must still be done through IE.

Support for Chrome and Edge Browsers:

With the implementation of Release 20.0, USAccess workstations will add support of the Chrome and Edge browsers for several activities of the USAccess system.
Previously, the Credential Inventory Tool (CIT), the Acknowledgement portal, the Self Service Password Reset portal, and Enrollment were designed around the use of Internet Explorer. Following the release, these functions will now support the use of Google Chrome and the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browsers. In order to ensure full functionality with these browsers, sites will need to update their Mobile Credentialing Units and Light Activation workstations to this version of the USAccess Installer if they choose to use Chrome or Edge for USAccess applications after Release 20.0.

Be aware that the desktop icons on the MCU and LA will continue to launch in Internet Explorer for these applications.

Please note that Chrome and Edge will require a browser extension to be installed and enabled as well. These will be added through the Installer package. Please be sure to refer the new job aid, Using Chrome or Edge on MCU/LA workstations.

Add Gender Identity Options in USAccess:

This update will also introduce an additional choice for the selectable gender identity of applicants. Prior to Release 20.0, USAccess had offered the choices of ‘Male’ or ‘Female’ for gender identity. With the new Release, applicants will now have the option for ‘Non-Binary’ as well, which will be represented by an ‘X’.
