Windows 10: Known Issues

Windows 10, version 1909

OneDrive Sync

A few users have reported that after running the 1909 upgrade, OneDrive fails to start and doesn’t show up in the task tray.

Go to the following RegKey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\OneDrive

Make sure DisableFileSyncNGSC is set to 0

Microsoft Outlook client profile corruption after 1909 upgrade

A few sites have reported that after running the 1909 update, the Outlook desktop client is no longer able to connect to the email server.

To fix this, have the user run the following registry edit: disableadalatopwamoverride.reg

To manually change the setting,

Navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity

  • Add DWORD “DisableADALatopWAMOverride”
  • Set value of “DisableADALatopWAMOverride” to “1”
  • Reboot

Note: this must be done as the user with the issue, not an admin

 .NET Framework 3.5 Installation Failure

Enabling .NET 3.5 may require this workaround due to STIG settings.

Install shows as Pro instead of Enterprise

Windows 10 pro/enterprise is all based on its ability to license itself.  If the DNS for the site/system allows it to talk to the license against the servers, then it will be enterprise. If not, it will be pro.

You can convert it to Enterprise with a single command:

Cscript.exe c:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs /ipk NPPR9-FWDCX-D2C8J-H872K-2YT43
