Microsoft is ceasing development on the desktop version of OneNote. As a result, OneNote 2016 will be the final version included with the Office suite.
Development of OneNote will continue with OneNote for Windows 10. The DOI 1809 Feature Update of Windows 10 will include the OneNote for Windows 10 Universal App.

This change will not effect preexisting install of OneNote 2016. However, new installs of Office 2019 and future Office365 updates will not include OneNote.
