NOTICE – OSD Template update to 2018 Q4-1803

OSD Template update to 2018 Q4-1803:

The USGS has developed a Operating System Deployment Template for SCCM.  This OSD template contains the approved OS images and Applications that are offered at an Enterprise level.  This OSD template has been updated to reflect the new 1803 2018-Q4 OS image, ADK 1709 Boot Image (This is meant to be a 1709), and new 1803 provisioned apps package.  Sites are encouraged to use this USGS OSD Template process for system deployment in their environment.

Steps to update active local task sequence copy to 2018 Q4-1803

1. Right click on the active local task sequence and select Properties
2. On the General tab, change name of TS to end in 2018 Q4-1803
3. On the Advanced tab browse to the new boot image “_DOI\ADModule\ADK1709\DOI-WinPE10-x64-ADModule (DI000559)”. This is meant to be 1709 and not 1803. Click OK
4. Click OK again to close the Properties window
5. Right click on the active local task sequence and select Edit
6. In left panel, select “Apply Win10x64 CBB”
7. On Properties tab, change name to “Apply Win10x64”
8. For image package option browse to the new OS image “_DOI\2018-Q4\DOI-Win10-Enterprise-x64-1803-2018-Q4 (DI000721).  Click OK
9. In the left panel, select “Uninstall Provisioned Apps (1709)”
10. On Properties tab, change name to “Uninstall Provisioned apps (1803)”
11. For package option browse to the new Package “_DO\OSD\DOI DOI-OSD-Uninstall Provisioned Apps-1803 DOI-Approved (DI0006B8)”. Click OK
12. Click OK again to close TS.
13. Right click on TS and choose “Distribute Content”. Choose the Distribution Point (DP) that will contain OSD content and click OK. All new items will be downloaded to DP(s).
14. Once the TS is updated, old OS image and Boot images should be deleted from DP’s the recover space.  Navigate to \Administration\Overview\Distribution Points
15. Search for DP that holds OSD.  Right click and select Properties.
16. On Content tab, find old OS and Boot images and remove.
