The USAccess Light Activation (LA) and Mobile Credentialing Unit (MCU) v7.0.0 installers were posted on the LAS tst page today. Unlike previous versions, these installers are being published after the implementation of Release 23.0, which occurred on the weekend of April 23-24, 2022. These upgrades must be completed by July 30, 2022 to ensure functionality.
The installers include new versions of the USAccess components which support changes for workstation licensing in Release 23.0. A new version of the USAccess System Info tool, which now displays the version numbers of all installed USAccess components, and a new automated process to import certificates during the installation are included as well. Additionally, all USAccess desktop shortcuts now open in the Microsoft Edge browser.
One big change with Release 23.0 is a new process has been created for managing and verifying the licenses granted when a MCU or LA kit is purchased through USAccess. This new method involves verifying a workstation by a combination of System ID, assigned Site Code, and serial numbers from the peripheral hardware included with a system. As a result, all USAccess must be assigned to a Site within the Site Manager portal. Workstations with the default Site Code of 91000 will lose functionality after July 30. 2022. To confirm your site code, open the USAccess System Info Icon on your workstation. If the Site Code reports 91000, please send your System ID in that same window to Sarah Griffin to have it registered in Site Manager.
