Light Activation (LA) and Mobile Credentialing Unit (MCU) v8.1.1 installers are now available

The USAccess Light Activation (LA) and Mobile Credentialing Unit (MCU) v8.1.1 installers were posted on the LAS tst page today.  The installers include new versions of PCA and the AI Client components.  Sites are reminded to have their registrars and activators verify their browser extensions upon completion of the installs to ensure all 4 required extensions are still enabled.

PCA will now have a new prompt when failing to verify the fingerprints during a biometric check. After one complete round of biometric checks (six failed attempts), the application will briefly submit the information and then display a message that the fingerprint verification had failed. It will then prompt the activator to click OK to proceed to retry. An example is included below:

The MCU installer also includes changes to the fingerprinting portion of enrollment.  The scores assigned to captured fingerprints will now be in increments of 20 (i.e. 20, 40, 60…) after updating the system. Additionally, the red or green color assigned to the score of a fingerprint will no longer appear in the enrollment after the implementation of a backend change in an upcoming USAccess release. The scores will instead appear in black text. These changes will encourage registrars to pay closer attention to the image of a captured fingerprint, instead of relying solely on the scores to determine acceptability.

Finally, the installer also resolves an issue that affected a small number of sites, which saw a portion of their enrollments were missing captured fingerprints following the completion of the enrollment. These sites will no longer see the issue on new enrollments after updating to the new installer.
