The USAccess Mobile Credentialing Unit (MCU) v2.2.1A and Light Activation (LA) v5.2.0 installers have been posted on the LA Kit page. These installers are MANDATORY updates once Release 17 moves to Production in mid-December 2019.
These installers include an update to the photo capture software (USAccess AIEPhotoControl) used in enrollment that prevents Registrars using MCUs and Fixed Credentialing Units (FCUs) from clicking to the next screen (capture fingerprints) if the photo does not meet the proportion/orientation required by the system. (For example, if the Applicant is not proper distance from camera.) If the photo does not resemble the referenced photo silhouette, the Registrar will get an error message “failed to optimize” or a “Please try again. System cannot detect a face”. The Registrar should adjust positioning and retake the photo.
These installers also include a new AI Activation Control that will replace the need for Java to sign the Acknowledgement Page at the end of Activation, as well as use the SSP and CIT web portals, after Release 17 goes into Production.
Release 17 includes the server side update for this new feature, so once it moves to Production, this new AI Activation Control is needed by any workstation accessing these applications as they look for this control instead of Java.
Once Release 17 goes live, the AI Activation Control will take the place of Java. Java will NOT be removed from LAs or MCUs once Release 17 moves to Production. This will be done via a future installer. Once Release 17 moves to Production, anyone accessing the SSP, CIT, or using the Acknowledgement Page must have this new AI Activation Control.
MCUs that do not have v2.2.1A of the MCU installer will not be able to complete enrollments or sign the acknowledgement page, use SSP or CIT once Release 17 is pushed to Production. LAs that do not have v5.2.0 will not be able to sign the acknowledgement page, use SSP, or use CIT once Release 17 is released.
