Removal of RES Agent From All USGS Computers

Due to a vulnerability discovered in the RES agent by USGS staff and verified by ITSOT, OCIO decided to remove the RES agent from all DOI computers. Logon Issues – Automatic Sign Out

There have been a few instances reported in which Windows immediately signs a user out after logging in. The user is never able to successfully sign in to the Desktop. There is a registry fix available.

Windows 10 CBB build 1511 is now available for deployment

Effective immediately, the current approved Windows OS versions for DOI include only:

• Windows 7; Extended Support for Windows 7 will be available through January 2020
• Windows 8.1; Extended Support for Windows 8.1 will be available through January 2023
• Windows 10 Enterprise Editions

Encrypted Windows systems can NOT be upgraded to Windows 10 using standard downloads …
