FDCCI 2014 Annual Data Center Inventory
May 16, 2014
The Department of the Interior (DOI) is requesting all Bureaus and Offices update the Federal Data Center Consolidation Initiative (FDCCI), Data Center inventory. This inventory was competed by USGS, through a series of data calls from 2010 to present. The inventory is comprised of data in/on your computer room, servers and storage, server operating systems in use, etc. The USGS inventory is available at:
Updates to FDCCI are due back to DOI for all locations, listed on the inventory, by May 16, 2014. For those data centers that are shared among multiple parties (Menlo Park, Reston, Rolla, Denver, EROS, etc), please coordinate with your Service Level Agreements and have the main point of contact for the data center update your location, respectively.
To update your location, please edit the Sharepoint site above and make any changes needed. After selecting your location, and updating, please select the validate radio button, at the bottom of the form and save.
If you have no updates to the FDCCI, as nothing in your computer room or data center has changed, you have no action. Please make specific note of virtualization implementations, as DOI and OMB are rating federal agencies on virtualization implementation. Servers that are not powered on, are not to be included in the FDCCI.
Thank you for updating this information in a timely manner. Please direct all question to your Regional Liaison, Sam Martinez or myself.
